CCM · StreamServe migration

StreamServe to OpenText Exstream migration

OpenText now points StreamServe customers to OpenText Communications (Exstream). We move StreamServe projects, processes and output onto current Exstream releases. StreamServe is common in the Nordics and across Europe, often behind SAP.

Why move now

Signs it is time to leave StreamServe

Risk

  • Support status that no longer matches your audit or resilience needs
  • Few people left who know how the projects were built
  • Underlying servers and operating systems ageing out

Opportunity

  • Accessible PDF output for the European Accessibility Act
  • One modern design environment instead of scattered projects
  • A route to cloud if and when you want it
What we migrate

From StreamServe to Exstream, piece by piece

Projects & templates

Each StreamServe project mapped to Exstream designs and shared components, rebuilt where a direct translation is not sensible.

Processes & routing

Input, process and output logic, including print queues, email and archive connectors.

SAP output

Documents triggered from SAP, such as invoices and order confirmations, kept flowing during and after the move.

Fonts, languages & formats

European characters, date and number formats, and print-stream compatibility with your print partner.

Testing

Old-against-new output comparison on agreed samples, with business sign-off for each document type.

Cut-over

Phased or big-bang go-live, with StreamServe kept available as a rollback until you are confident.

Our method

A StreamServe migration in four steps

Inventory

Every project, process, connector and document type, with volumes and owners.

Map & plan

Target design in Exstream, phases by document family, and a realistic timeline.

Rebuild & prove

Rebuild, then compare output against StreamServe until it matches.

Go live

Rehearsed cut-over, hypercare, then handover to your team or our support.

FAQ

Common questions

Is StreamServe still supported?

Check your exact support status with OpenText. Most StreamServe customers are now planning a move to OpenText Communications (Exstream), and OpenText's own version guides are aimed at StreamServe owners.

Can we migrate one document family at a time?

Yes. Phasing by document family, such as invoices first, then statements, keeps risk low and lets StreamServe run in parallel until everything has moved.

Will our SAP integration still work?

Yes. We plan SAP-triggered output as part of the migration and test it end to end before cut-over.

Do you work in the Nordics and the rest of Europe?

Yes. We are UK-based and work with clients across the UK and Europe.
